Recently, the Public Forum community has been making incredible strides in recognizing the gender disparities within debate and bringing attention to the problems found. Empirically confirmed in Allen Abbott and Ben Shahar’s study regarding gender disparities within the community, girls are at a distinct disadvantage and face more hurdles than our male counterparts. This conversation has been seen at the highest levels of the event in TOC outrounds and has caused much broader discussion online and in classrooms across the country, inspiring a wave of interest in fixing decades-old unaddressed and insidious norms of the debate community. We want to capitalize on this current momentum and establish this website as a place for girls in debate to be able to bond over shared experiences and find a welcoming community.
Join us in our attempt to tear down the barriers imposed for girls in Public Forum. Now is the time to make a change in debate.
